Northeast Louisiana Arts Summit

The Arts Council of Northeast Louisiana invites all regional arts organizations to the first Northeast Louisiana Arts Summit on June 16 at the West Monroe Convention Center. The Arts Summit is part of the Arts Council’s Arts Entrepreneurial Training Program.

Member Price: free for executive director and board chair $100 for entire board and staff
Non-Member Price: $25 per person $250 for entire board and staff

Board Development Workshop, Pam Atchison, 9:15 – 11:15 a.m.
Gather your board and learn how to work together for the betterment of your organization. In this workshop, you will discover your strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. Atchison is the executive director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). For 30 years, she has overseen SRAC’s numerous arts programs including arts in education, artists’ entrepreneurial training, public art installations, and a robust grants program for artists and arts organizations. Atchison has a BFA from Stephen F. Austin State University, an MS in Nonprofit Management from LSU-S, and an honorary Doctorate from Centenary College.
Developing a Consistent Brand, Danielle Kelley Tolbird, 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Do words like “marketing” and “public relations” make you queasy? In this session, you will learn how to present a consistent brand to make your overall communication plan more effective. Tolbird received her Master of Mass Communication from LSU after studying strategic communication and public relations. While at LSU, she lectured on personal branding, and defended a thesis on nonprofit fundraising. She is currently the community development coordinator of the Arts Council.
Grant Writing 101, Margit Brazda Poirier, 1 – 4 p.m.
In this exclusive, live webinar, Poirier will show you where to search for grants and how to write effective grants. Owner and founder of Grants4Good LLC, Poirier brings over 20 years of nonprofit management and grants experience to the company. Poirier has written and received millions in grants from federal, state, foundation, and corporate sources. She has the unique perspective of understanding both grant seeking and grant making, given her experience leading a foundation that issued over one million in grants annually.
