State of Arts Education in Northeast Louisiana 2027
School Survey
In 2018, the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council conducted the first regional assessment of arts education access in Northeast Louisiana. The study examined public schools across our service area and provided valuable insight into the opportunities available to students throughout the region.
The findings revealed significant disparities in arts education access and helped establish a baseline for future advocacy, partnerships, and investment in arts education.
Now, nearly a decade later, the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council is undertaking an updated assessment to better understand the current state of arts education in our region.
In addition to measuring progress since 2018, this assessment will help us better understand how educational changes over the past decade - including the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, staffing challenges, funding shifts, and evolving educational priorities - have affected arts education opportunities for students across Northeast Louisiana.
While the pandemic disrupted schools nationwide, we believe enough time has passed to meaningfully evaluate its long-term effects on arts programming, student access, educator staffing, and community partnerships.
The information gathered through this survey will help identify successes, challenges, and emerging needs while informing future advocacy, funding opportunities, and partnerships that support arts education throughout our region.
We greatly appreciate your participation in this important regional assessment.
