Voting Now Open: 40th Annual Arts Awards

Thank you for taking the time to participate in the 40th Annual Northeast Louisiana Arts Council Arts Awards.

These awards recognize excellence, impact, and commitment to the arts across our 12-parish region — and this year, award recipients are being determined through public voting.

All finalists live, work, or primarily operate within Region 8 (Northeast Louisiana), including the parishes of Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Jackson, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, Union, and West Carroll.

Voting Guidelines
  • You may cast one vote per category
  • Please review each category and its finalists before making your selection
  • Voting will remain open through 11:59PM Wednesday, May 6, 2026
  • Results will be announced at the Arts Awards celebration on June 25, 2026

Each finalist has been selected based on community nominations and eligibility review. Your vote helps recognize the individuals, organizations, and businesses making a meaningful impact through the arts in Northeast Louisiana. If you see an error, please email abigail@nelaarts.org.

Arts Educator of the Year (K–12)

Recognizes an outstanding K–12 arts educator in a public, private, or parochial school who has made a meaningful impact on students through visual or performing arts.

Recognizes a visual artist whose work demonstrates creativity, excellence, and meaningful contribution to the cultural landscape of Region 8.

Recognizes a performing artist whose work demonstrates excellence and impact through disciplines such as music, theatre, dance, or spoken word.

Recognizes a young or early-career artist (high school through age 25) who shows exceptional promise, growth, and dedication to their craft.

Recognizes an individual whose volunteer service has made a significant and lasting impact on arts organizations or initiatives in Region 8.

BART Award (Business Art Award)

Recognizes a business that demonstrates meaningful support for the arts through partnerships, sponsorships, or ongoing investment in the creative community.

Recognizes a university-level arts educator who demonstrates excellence in teaching, mentorship, and contribution to the arts in Region 8.

Literary Artist of the Year

Recognizes a writer whose work contributes to the literary and cultural landscape of Region 8, including authors, poets, playwrights, essayists, and spoken word artists.
